The illustrations for the first Hypercollage were actually created before the first version of the Hypercollage program. They were originally created as a series of four collages made to fit some wooden frames I had laying around. Because each of these illustrations had the same footprint (so as to fit the uniform frame size), they ended up being the perfect candidate to try this new technique with.
The illustrations were all done using felt tipped pens. A sloppy application of glue to the underside of some of these illustrations contributed to a bleeding effect in the ink drawings above. Initially I was unhappy with this, but the softness it lends to some of the segments has grown on me by now. In any case, going forward I was much more careful with both the volume and method used to apply glue to the collages…
